Hector, please don't get mad, we appreciate your efforts to keep this server bug-free and think you've been doing a great job so far! We' love to play in this server and think this is great. Are you sure that you double checked the numbers you changed? 67 sword fighting skill with a 42 attack weapon gives me an average exori damage of 45, roughly a third of what a real 8.0 Tibia would give me with the same setup. Are you sure this is what you intended? Maybe there's a simply a typo in the code. |

Hi, Yes, during that time in Tibia, spells did not factor weapon attack into damage calculation, only level, skills, and magic level. You can compare this here at this link: https://web.archive.org/web/20070808220810/http://www.tibia.com/library/?subtopic=spells. This is different from today, where the weapon's attack power is considered, as you can see in the current Tibia here: https://www.tibia.com/library/?subtopic=spells. |

Hi Hector, I appreciate your openness in sharing your approach here and I am also looking forward to getting the authentic 8.0 experience - glad we're on the same page here. However, please note that according to the official article discussing the vocation balancing, which was posted on Jun 08 2007 on the official website, the damage calculation does consider both the player skill and the weapon damage: https://web.archive.org/web/20070614072512/http://www.tibia.com:80/news/?subtopic=latestnews Quoting the article: "As the magic formula has been changed, the current exori would be of little use for knights. For this reason, the new berserk spell will, like all special attacks, depend on your weapon and your skill and requires a constant amount of mana. Here comes my question - given the above, would you willing to reconsider your stance on the current exori formula and include the weapon damage to replicate the authentic 8.0 experience? Happy to hear your thoughts! |

In fact, this seems like great news to me, I will propose the future changes tomorrow and Monday will take effect. I anticipate that I will keep the ice rapier disabled to avoid abuse and lack of balance until I find a suitable solution for ice rapier. Thank you for your investigation. |

Hi Hector, Thank you for listening to my feedback and adjusting the damage, I appreciate it! I did some testing today and it still felt a bit off compared to the expected actual 8.0 damage. I did some further research to confirm or deny this: hopefully, that helps you further adjust this - feel free to use this if you find it helpful: First, I went to TibiaWiki to discover what the pre-2020 vocation balancing damage formula for exori is: https://tibia.fandom.com/wiki/Formulae#Spell/Rune_Damage/Healing To confirm that the formula is accurate for 8.0, I found a reference video of a knight hunting with exori / exori gran in a real 8.0 Tibia. There are very few of them, but I was able to find a suitable one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjJ1jNwZgws&t=133s&ab_channel=OldTibiaVideos Applying the formula to the player in the video (200 level, 99 skill, 50 attack weapon), the expected average value for exori gran is 448. Comparing the value to the damage the player deals throughout the video, we can confirm that the formula is indeed correct and can be applied to create an authentic 8.0 experience. The next step is to apply the formula to my character. I am currently level 51, skill 76, and weapon attack 42. The formula for exori indicates that I should be dealing 128 damage on average. However, the damage I observed dealing with exori appears to be between 80 and 95, far below the expected value. Based on the above, can I please ask you to further adjust your formula to correctly reflect the 8.0 damage? Thank you for your support! |

Yes, I based it on videos. So you need to be level 200 to be able to test it, because there are other variables. And it's not certain that you will always achieve the same damage. Once you are level 200, you can test it and if not, I will modify it using your character as a test. Don't worry! There are many videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LJj1Cjc5a0 |
